Avoiding unnecessary landfill, creating high quality employment and developing repair skills training in our community
Renew Crew aims to reduce landfill, create high quality employment and increase repair skills in our Community.
Renew Crew accepts donated and unwanted Laptops, Tablets, PC’s, Macs and Monitors and offers them to groups and individuals in our Community who currently face digital exclusion or financial hardship.
Donated equipment will have all data ‘wiped’ securely, new more reliable solid-state hard drives installed, a fully licensed Microsoft Windows 10 operating system installed, be PAT tested and offered to the new owners with a range of suitable accessories.
Refurbished Laptops, Tablets, PC’s, Macs and Monitors will be offered to charities and groups for a small donation and are available to purchase online by individuals and business via our ‘Refurbished Shop’.
Businesses and organisations with a legal responsibility to securely and sustainably divest old IT equipment can donate equipment and funding to our project to assist us with refurbishing and rehoming old equipment.
Our long term aim is to create a sustainable workshop employing full time repair engineers, deliver training and learning opportunities, deliver low cost IT to groups and individuals, reduce E-waste and eradicate digital and financial exclusion in our Community.
We have a range of drop-off locations available from Newlands Activity Centre in Romanno Bridge to Home Basics in Hawick. Check out our map of drop off locations.
